Issues and Challenges in Philippine Agriculture
This report presents some of the micro and macro issues that critically affects Philippine agriculture especially its adverse implications to the farmers and fisherfolks comprising 70% of the population. By no means this is exhaustive but these provide the context why food security is threatened, poverty has increased among the basic sectors and how corporate agriculture and existing policies supportive of this is increasingly dominating all aspect of food production, technology and trade which adversely impact the environment, biodiversity, indigenous knowledge and cultural practices of farmers.
