The Permanent People’s Tribunal Session on Agrochemical Transnational Corporations


On December 3-6, 2011, the “Permanent People’s Tribunal: Session on Agrochemical Transnational Corporations” took place in Banglore, India. Spearheaded by PAN International, the tribunal was convened to indict the world’s six largest agrochemical companies, Monsanto, Syngenta, Bayer, Dow Chemical, DuPont and BASF, on the bases of gross, widespread and systemic violations of: 1. the right to health and life; 2. economic, social and cultural rights; 3. civil and political rights; 4. women and children’s rights. This book details the indictment proceedings and the verdict of the tribunal, and includes testimonies of victims and survivors, expert witnesses and submissions of the lawyers.
