Women’s Resistance and Struggles: Asserting our Rights to Land, Resources and Livelihood. Booklet 2: Land and Resources: Claiming our Rights
History tells us that women in agriculture have been strongly asserting their rights - to productive and political resources; to define and determine food and agricultural policies; to healthy and safe food; to reclaim their knowledge, skills and control over resources. For women in Asia, this also meant the assertion of their rights as farmers, workers, consumers, mothers, and as women. Second in the PAN Asia Pacific (PANAP) series “Women's Resistance and Struggles,” this booklet documents the heroic experiences of the the women in Singur and Nandigramin India who fought the land grabbing by the West Bengal government in the face of violent repression.
