Proceedings Rural Women's Liberation Workshop 2005

This proceeding on Rural Women’s Liberalisation Workshop is to discuss on the common issues and struggles of rural women. These are women who are struggling, resisting and who are trying to liberate themselves from the various challenges of globalisation that continue to encroach on women’s lives, at times to the point of taking away our livelihoods. The 3-day workshop would provide participants the opportunity to share their struggles, resistance, and highlight new issues which they are facing in the course of their resistance. She added that we should also look at our common enemies, and the need to confront these enemies collectively so that we become a strong force of resistance. Next, she said, we need to find ways to strengthen our resistance – from the local and community to national and international levels. Therefore, in these 3 days, there are opportunities to build solidarity, forge unity and strengthen our struggles at various levels.
