Proceedings Of Asian Rural Women's Conference 2008


The first-ever “Asian Rural Women’s Conference: Rights, Empowerment and Liberation” in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu, India on March 6-8, 2008 was a historical event as it brought together more than 700 rural women leaders and representatives, national women’s groups, regional networks, public interest groups and activists from over 130 organisations in 21 countries in 5 regions in Asia. This booklet is the documentation of the conference proceedings covering stories and testimonies of struggles of rural women, and their collective response and strategies against corporate globalization.
